The Assistant Director oversees daily operations, supervises staff and children, ensures high-quality care standards, and manages the center in the Director's absence. This leadership role requires independent judgment, strong communication with families and staff, and a commitment to safe, inclusive, relationship-based care. Ideal candidates have ECE leadership experience and familiarity with DCYF regulations.
Assistant Director - Requirements
- Ability to pass a Washington State and FBI background check
- First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne Pathogens certification
- Food Handler's Card
- TB Test (required prior to employment)
- Initial 30 Hours STARS training
- All other training required by DCYF
Lead Teachers plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based curriculum, manage classroom activities, maintain records, and communicate directly with families. You will be responsible for the daily learning experience in your classroom and will collaborate with the Assistant Director to keep instruction aligned with Just Like Home standards and state requirements.

Assistant Teachers support Lead Teachers in delivering play-based curriculum, managing classroom activities, supervising outdoor play, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
